Gift Guide:: Dirty Santa Go-To's with Emory Point

Inevitably, every year I am invited to at least one dirty Santa party. Dirty Santa, for those of you who don't know, is a gift swap in which you bring a wrapped present and then each player can either take a new gift from under the tree or steal something that's already been opened from someone else. It really is a lot of fun, but I have to be honest and say that getting the perfect dirty Santa gift stresses me out. I mean, I pressure myself to bring the BEST gift; you know the one: the gift that everyone wants!

Lucky for me (and you!). Emory Point is a one stop shop for all of your Dirty Santa needs. These items can just as easily be used as hostess gifts and a few might even serve wonderfully in a White Elephant exchange. Either way, Emory Point has just what you need to finish up holiday parties over the next week (!!!).

c/o American Threads: notebook / notepad / scarf / earrings / wet wipes
c/o Fab'rik: candle / hanky panky / sponge

This notebook from American Threads just plain makes me giggle. Really, I may just have to keep it for myself because it is just so me!

And you can never go wrong with a candle. Votivo are the BEST candles around because they burn for hours. Fab'rik has this wonderful Christmas-y scent which will definitely be a hit at your holiday soiree.

If you're in the Atlanta area, be sure to head to Emory Point this Saturday for their last Shop and Stroll of the season. Enjoy a complimentary $20 gift card to select retailers when you present same day receipts totaling $100. Oh what fun!

Gift Guide:: Stocking Stuffers for Her

I'm going to skip the small talk today and simply suggest that you send this little post on over to the men in your life: husband, boyfriend, brother, dad...they could all benefit from this guide because it's all about those small gifts - the stocking stuffers. I've rounded up some of my favorite ideas from small business. From baubles to books, there's bound to be an idea for your guy to gift to you!

Even though it may seem counter-intuitive for guys, you girl could really use a gift card to her favorite gym. Treat her to a month (or two!) on you. My pick? Pure Barre. Don't forget to add a cute workout top to the mix to show her that you've gone above and beyond!

Karen of Lindsey Street Market makes the most darling headbands fit for any lovely lady in your life. She says that she loves debunking the "I'm too old to wear that myth," and I think that's so true! Wear what you want and wear it well. The headband seen here has been a fun addition to my accessories wardrobe, and it would make a fabulous stocking stuffer!

Finally, I am happy as a bird with a french fry to reintroduce you to York Design Company. Laura and I have worked together in the past, and I've loved every minute of watching her business grow. She was even featured on Bethany! What I love about Laura's cuffs are the quality. They would be such a fun jewelry box addition and definitely serve as a great conversation starter. How cute are the skiers?! And of course I have a monogram option, too. Obvs.

Psssst. Send this gift guide along to your guy. Thank me later.

Unique Ways to Wrap your Gifts

I have been scheming this post for quite some time, and I am so happy that I can finally bring it to you! One of my favorite things about giving gifts is the opportunity to wrap them. I seriously horde wrapping paper and Hunter spends much of his holiday season getting onto me for purchasing more of it. I can't help it, though, I love it...which is why I am thrilled to introduce to you not one, but two incredible ways to personalize your gifts and wrap them just beautifully for the holidays.

Local Atlanta company, Lilywrap, is going to amaze you. Seriously, your mind will be blown by this beautiful, sturdy, stretchy, reusable, fabric wrapping. I cannot say enough fabulous things about this wrapping. I am obsessed! Curious as to how it works? Watch this video. Trust me, the video is key in understanding how to cinch your presents closed, but once you've mastered it (in less than 10 seconds, no less), the smile on your face will be plastered on as you wrap gift after gift. I wrapped all of the gifts seen here in under a minute. Honest to goodness!

I love all of Lilywrap's beautiful patterns, but I've been especially smitten by the Green Herringbone. The mauve satin ribbon is a beautiful addition to the already lovely tonal colors. The rest of the holiday satin ribbon collection is extremely complimentary, but it wouldn't hurt to toss in some of the matte ribbon collection as well. Eek! So fun! As a special deal to PPD readers, Lilywrap is offering 20% off of all of their wrapping with the code: MERRYDOT

As if Lilywrap wasn't fabulous enough, I am also elated to introduce to you beautiful, hand-lettered wrapping paper by Meme Davis. Meme is one of my sorority sisters and is one talented lady. She designed our wedding suite, and also happens to do a bit of calligraphy from time to time for your favorite southern magazine, Southern Living. See? Super talented.

Meme just introduced personalized wrapping paper to her shop, and it's so well made, so thick (key for professional wrapping), so beautiful that I don't want to use it. But I am...because it's awesome. Our wrapping paper says "Merry! Merry! love, the Letts," and looks just like this (and is seen on the small packages in the top image). So cute, right?! Meme also hand-letters these beautiful holiday gift tags. Add one to a bottle of wine for a hostess gift, or tag each of your presents under your tree. They're lovely.

So is your wrapping paper life changed?! I hope so! Head over to each of these shops and add their wrapping to your cart. Merry merry!

Gift Guide:: For the Guy Who has it All

Let's all agree on something up front: shopping for men is just plain hard. For one, there are only so many wallets and shaving accessories that a dude can have. For another, if a guy wants something, he just buys it. Simple as that. So, I thought I would try and ease the pain of guy shopping with just a few small business ideas for the guy in your life.

Gifts for the Guy Who has it All

Beer Greetings
What dude doesn't love a quality beer? Pick up his favorite craft beer at your local shop and swap the regular old case for a Hoppy Holidays one from Beer Greetings. The cheeky packaging will make him smile and the fact that you managed to track down a special tasty beer will definitely make him jolly. At under $15 for a pack of 5 greetings, I also love this concept for an easy hostess gift for holiday parties. Use the code: MERRYDOT for 20% off, and if you have Amazon Prime, you'll get free 2-day shipping. #winning

Aubsessories T-Shirt
College football rules the roost in the south, and even though the top four teams have already been decided, if your guy is anything like mine, he's definitely not a fair weather fan. Why not gift him a punny college tee so he can wear his team proudly emblazoned across his chest? These tees from Aubsessories are perfect for the guys in our family. The quality is incredible, and I love that the creator lives in Auburn herself. Talk about family all in. Be sure to check out Corrie's adorable kids line, too. Contact aubsessories@gmail.com to place your order!

Custom Dog Ornament
Last on my list is the ideal gift for the guy who adores his pup just about as much as he loves you (hey, just being honest :)). Remember Ocean Junky Art from last week's beach goer guide? Ashley just so happens to take a limited number of custom orders...and she can paint your dog on an ornament! How cute is Ryan here?! She's definitely a sassy model.

Gift Guide:: For the Paper Penchant

One of the things that I absolutely love to buy both for myself and for other people, is paper. Stationery, art, prints, cards, you name it, I buy it. I like to think paper is one of those gifts that keeps on giving. Stationery for example, is not only given to the recipient, but is then sent by them off to someone else. You never know the adventure that little card will go on! Likewise, prints get framed and hung in a home for someone to enjoy again and again. I just love that.

Today, I am thrilled to bring you gifts for the person in your life that loves paper: the paper penchant. The girl who always writes a thank you note, the woman who just can't resist snagging another Christmas print to add to her decor, or the bestie that loves a good old fashioned number 2 pencil. This guide's for her!

How beautiful are these two Christmas prints by Wicked Paper Co.? I have to say that the craftsmanship on these is absolutely stunning. The pictures don't do them justice at all, but what you can see are the vibrant colors and the talent. Wicked Paper is filled to the brim with gorgeous prints designed and created by husband and wife team, Cami and Jason. I love that these two work closely together to design prints fit for any stylish home. Their nursery line has some of my favorites, so if you know someone who is expecting, be sure to take a peek! To celebrate the season, Wicked Paper is offering PPD readers a 15% discount using the code PPD15. Get shopping!

Can we talk about these cheeky cards from Rachel Tenny's shop, A Little Bit of Me? My girlfriends are pretty great about sending cards to each other for random things beyond birthdays, and I love the fact that Rachel's cards are geared towards women. Of course I think my husband would get a good cackle out of the erm, under garments card. Who wouldn't?! Snag these cards on Rachel's Etsy shop, or enter the giveaway via my Instagram. Rachel also offers custom home & couple illustrations. So many great gifts in her shop this season!

Thanks for supporting small business, y'all! More guides coming your way next week!

Gift Guide:: For the Beach Goer

I am thrilled to bring you the first installment of my PPD gift guides. Focusing on small business this year, I am going to be featuring a few gifts from some of my favorite local retailers and putting my own twist on the traditional "themed" gift guides. Up first is a gift guide for your favorite sun loving, beach lounging, mermaid acting, beach goer. I've rounded up a few gifts especially for them. Let's dive in! (see what I did there?)

Every year we head down to 30A for a week long trip of Americana fun. One of the things we love about that area of the world is the smaller beaches that have some of our favorite dive bars and shops. That's why the 30A Communities print by Our 30A made it as a part of my beach goer gift guide. It's a great way to commemorate your vacations to the beautiful emerald coast.

Our 30A also features tees and other gifts specifically created for vacationers who are ambassadors to the SoWa area. I am loving their newest ambassador tee shirt line which showcases the phrase "Gulf of ______" based on your home state! Even if your giftee heads to other parts of the Gulf of Mexico to vacation, this tee still fits the frozen drink bill.

If you're not exactly a 30A vacationer, but have a beach bathing beauty on your list, definitely consider gifting her these beautiful hand painted sea creature ornaments by Ocean Junky Art. Ashley, the artist behind these ornaments, just so happens to be my college roommate and one heck of a talented painter. She created this set (including the flamingo) especially for me, but a set of four ornaments runs between $35 and $40. A steal to say the least. The colors are bright and the details exquisite. Plus they look absolutely stunning on the tree!

A few other gifts for the beach goer:

I love the idea of dreaming of white sands in a winter wonderland, don't you?! Stay tuned! More small business gift guides are headed your way soon.  I can't wait!
