PPD Travels: Barnsley Resort

As fall ushers in, we start envisioning ways we can get out of the house. Fall is usually perfect in Georgia, but we've had an unnaturally warm one this year. Thankfully, Atlanta has a ton of driving-distance, just-north-of-here getaways waiting to be explored. A few weeks ago, we loaded up the car and hit the road to Barnsley Resort

Originally the site of an expansive home and gardens, Barnsley Resort now boasts a luxury resort, spa, golf course, and several upscale restaurants. The resort says, "here, time can stand still," and I can say from experience, it really, really does.

Small cottages dot the property and gravel paths line carless streets. Fire pits with adirondack chairs are found in the center of quaint courtyards, and gas lanterns abound. In short, it's one of the most charming places I've ever seen. Even better? The property is pet-friendly. It was a blast to see everyone's dogs at every turn. Since we decided last minute on our trip, we were a little limited with our options for rooms, so we didn't get to bring Ryan, but we definitely will next time.

In addition to being so gosh-darn cute, the property has several unique spots for meals and adventures. We enjoyed being outdoors at the seasonal Beer Garden for happy hour, then pulling up seats at the Woodlands Grill bar while we waited for our table at dinner. We didn't make reservations anywhere which only further emphasized the relaxation of the stay.

Of course, our trip wouldn't have been complete without a tour through the gardens and ruins. I could imagine people of the past meandering through the lush gardens, or climbing the steps to the grand parlor, or reading in the stocked library. I love history, and Barnsley is full of it.

Even though our stay was only for one-night, it was exactly what we needed. I highly recommend looking into an overnight or weekend stay at Barnsley Resort

P.S. This is NOT a sponsored post. I just wanted to share my fabulous experience with you all!
