Oh spring stripes, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways...
1. Stripes are classic. They never ever go out of style which is why I try to stock my closet with them and hang on to striped pieces over time.
2. Stripes are versatile. After I wore this outfit around Marietta Square, I tossed a tan sweater over it for the rest of the day. The stripe and lace detailing peeking out from the bottom of the sweater was a preppy addition.
3. Stripes (of the right kind) are flattering. Of course you have to choose carefully, though. I try to leave stripes to the upper half of my body if I am going with the horizontal variety. Vertical stripes on the bottom half are elongating, but tend to be hard to find unless it's work wear.
I just LOVE stripes! I snagged this tee from Loft during the spring shop and stroll and Emory Point. It ended up being a great starting piece for the rest of this outfit. The shoes are from Lizard Thicket and were a steal at $34 while the clutch and necklace hailed from Francesca's. I loved pulling together an outfit at this event, and I am delighted to share it with you today. You can bet it will be making a repeat appearance in Charleston this week!
