How to Get What You Still Want from Lilly for Target

Yesterday's Lilly for Target launch was for many a disappointing disaster. While women braved Target's website and long lines, I chose to sit calmly at home and watch the whole thing play-out. Sure, I may have missed the coveted shift dresses, but there are other ways to get what you still want from Lilly for Target. Stay with me, y'all, and I'll teach you my ways!

The last collection this big was the Phillip Lim for Target line in 2013. I remember similar chaos being shared on social media for the beautiful bags that had made their way to the stores. Like most trends, I waited it out and of course decided I just had to have a bag like every other blogger out there. And of course, there were none to be found. Until one day, about a week after the launch, I stumbled across these (pardon the gross Target mirror):

Not one, but TWO Phillip Lim cross body bags in two of the most sought-after colors. They were just hanging in the clearance section like they were meant to be there. Over the course of the next few weeks, more and more Phillip Lim pieces began to reappear in stores. The moral of this story? Wait for the returns, ladies. Trust me. There is something about the thrill of the hunt that makes women crazy. It makes women want to run to and through Target stores snatching items away from one another. But, there is also something that makes them get home, assess their loot, and really take a long hard look at whether they actually want to have spent $494 dollars on Target goods.  Buyer's remorse will set in and returns will be made. All Lilly items must be returned to stores within 14 days of purchase, so be on the prowl starting now.

So, this is how to get what you still want from the Lilly for Target collection: visit your area stores a few times this week. Try to hit them up at different times during the day and even in different locations. Look in odd spaces in the store: the clearance racks, the end caps, the random places that people stash things. Some of the items are bound to return to the store, especially from the home and accessories collection. Patience, friends! And if you still can't wait, there's always eBay.

  1. This is so true! I snagged the tumblers from my store this afternoon; they were sitting on the display with a few other pieces from the home collection. I know I accidentally ordered a couple of things twice in the madness of trying to order from the mobile site and will be returning them to the store like a normal person not trying to make a profit off of other's desperation. I can't be the only person that it happened to so I really think stores will see items coming back towards the end of this week beginning of next as online orders start to be delivered
