Blackberry Farm

For our first anniversary, Hunter surprised me with a trip to Blackberry Farm in Tennessee.  Situated in a valley in the Smoky Mountains, I have to say that it's one of the most picturesque places we've ever been, and between that and the food, we were in heaven! Celebrities and chefs flock to the farm for R&R because it's so peaceful. In fact, Kelly Clarkson was married there and Kellie Pickler stayed at the farm the weekend before us. Crazy! 

I wanted to share a few pictures of our trip with you because words just won't do it justice. Take it all in and enjoy a photo trip through Blackberry Farm! 

How beautiful are the grounds and our cottage? Beautiful. Just beautiful. I loved the decor, and each cottage has a complimentary golf cart to take you all over the grounds. My favorite part of our room is that series of pictures above the fire place. They fold back to reveal a T.V.  (not that we watched it, but still!) Genius.

Dinner is held nightly in The Barn. The Barn is just that, an old barn that has been transformed into an incredible restaurant. We have never ever same-side dated before, and while it was awkward, it seemed like the most appropriate way to have our first anniversary dinner. Also, we didn't have a choice. We ordered a fabulous bottle of Russian River Valley Syrah and enjoyed our 5 course meal. YUM! 

We finished our trip the next morning with a golf cart tour of the rest of the property which included a stop at the Orvis Bait Shop (house above) and of course about an hour perusing the variety of house made jams, jellies, pickles, and cheeses. We left with cheese, jam, and our first Blackberry Santa Claus.

We had such a magical time at Blackberry, so I recommend you definitely add it to your must-visit list. We even had a packed lunch waiting for us in our car for the ride home (a 5 course meal again!). I can't wait to go back :)
