The idea for this post came about rather organically. Late Saturday night after filling our bellies at Southbound, we purchased a dozen Krispy Kremes on a whim from our local Publix. We, of course, indulged in a few after date night, but were left with a solid half dozen. What to do with a few surely stale by morning donuts? S'mores. Grilled donut s'mores.
Honestly, turning the donuts into a platform for s'mores came to me while roaming the grocery aisles doing typical Sunday meal planning. I popped some giant marshmallows in my cart along with the usual enormous chocolate bar and decided then and there we'd give this treat a try. It was a HUGE success.
My grill master husband handled the quick char on these babies, while I stood at the ready with a bed of chocolate and the mallow. It was a beautiful team effort.
Now I don't claim to be a cook or a baker or a chef or a food recipe writer; I'm merely sharing with you the joy that is this sugary combination. Brown a few donuts on the grill, roast a marshmallow, add some chocolate, and you've got yourself a s'more. Bon appetite!
