So, once you've mastered the art of email, how to overcome common grammar mistakes, and how to punctuate some pretty pesky blog posts, what's left in your blogger education? A LOT! As it turns out, the world of blogging never sleeps and the ability to constantly grow and expand your knowledge don't either. Below are four blogging tips that you need to know now (and can execute easily)!
1. Buy a Custom Domain: Eek. I am so guilty of this one, so I figured that if I tell you to do it, it is time that I do it myself. What the pros say is true: a custom domain will save you time and energy, looks more professional, and makes it easier for a person to remember to get back to your site. Case in point: it's a whole lot easier for someone to remember probablypolkadots.com versus probablypolkadots.blogspot.com. I bought my domain yesterday - get yours soon!
2. Continue Your Education: Are you listening to me on this one yet? Good because I've found even more tricks to share with you! One of them is the website Shortstack. While you might not be interested in their app-builder, you will definitely love their social media tips page. I have walked away with so much valuable knowledge!
3. Get a Custom Email Address:
This is something I've been meaning to do for a while, and I just
didn't know how. Thankfully with a little research I was able to uncover
the secret. And guess what? It could not be easier. Even though I
haven't quite done this myself, it is definitely on my list of things to
do soon!
4. Decide on Disclosure: Don't be a shady blogger for the sake of a little bit of cash. Let your readers know upfront (or on the bottom of a post) that you are writing something for sponsorship. Even if the products you are receiving are gifted and you're not getting any financial compensation, let them know. It's important to be honest so that everyone knows what to expect from you (and you know what to expect from yourself).
Oh I so need to do the custom e-mail address thing. Good thing I just ordered 200 business cards with my current e-mail on them instead.
