Attending winter baby showers always throw me a curve when trying to decide what to wear. To me, babies and showers are all about soft pastels that are subtle and sweet. Easy to find in the spring and summer, but in the winter, it's not quite so. Lucky for me, I have my go-to J.Crew scallop dress to save the day. I've talked about these dresses before (I have it in 2 colors), and they've been the best closet staples I've ever bought.
To make the dress weather appropriate, I added a blazer along with tights and black suede booties. Tights like these from Kushy foot provide the warmth and coverage you need while being comfortable too (these tights are specially made with a massaging sole!). The vibrant blue of my dress was punchy enough for the event while not being too out of place for the season. Plus, I added a few baubles, like this druzy necklace from L.A. based, Rafia Jewelry.

While the blue colorway isn't available any longer, J.Crew Factory has the dress in a beautiful poppy color as well as timeless navy.
