I've realized over the course of the past few months that mentions of the wedding on the blog have been next to none. On one hand, I am pretty proud of myself that this blog didn't turn into a wedding blog! On the other hand, I am kind of disappointed in myself for not sharing more about it. People love weddings; it's just a fact of life. So today, I am going to share the inspiration behind our wedding, and give just a few details about what's been going on in preparation for December 1st!
See // This picture is of the exact spot where we will have our ceremony. It's the courtyard of one of our favorite Atlanta haunts, Westside Provisions, and the home of our reception site, JCT Kitchen, as well as the beloved Sid & Ann Mashburn. I love this picture because it gives me such a visual of what the day really will look like!
Wear // Our colors are navy and white with green accents. You' can see this carried out in almost every picture above (unintentionally if you can believe it!) My fiance, Hunter, always wears patterned dress shirts...most of which are checked. It is just so him. Our plan is to choose his outfit based on this image. We want to look like ourselves on our wedding day.
Carry // Ah, anemones, how I love you. Are these flowers not perfect with the white & navy color scheme? Yes, yes they are. I also love the ribbon tied around the stems...maybe add a vintage brooch for a bit of flair?
Sip // We're about 95% sure that we'll be going the open bar route for our day, but adding a signature cocktail. When I saw these drink stirrers, I knew that I had found something unique for our beverages.
Nosh // JCT Kitchen is one of the best southern restaurants in the city; I mean, they serve an appetizer of fried chicken skins, y'all. We'll be enjoying southern dishes and a simple cake like this one. I love that it's just a little messy, but still polished.
Enjoy // My amazing co-workers have generously agreed to make peach habanero jam for our favors. It is delicious and can be used as a dip over cream cheese or as a rub for pork tenderloin. Plus, we live in Georgia! Peaches are the perfect way to welcome everyone, and send them home after a long evening.
I hope you enjoyed this glipse into our wedding day. It's getting close!
Your ceremony space looks incredible. I can't wait to see how everything comes together!
